The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to take the pledge of allegiance from women verbally, by reciting this verse, "that they will not associate anything with Allah" [Mumtahanah 60:12]. She said, "His hand never touched the hand of any woman except a woman whom he owned."

كان رسول الله ﷺ يبايع النساء بالكلام بهذه الآية {على أن لا يشركن بالله شيئا} قالت وما مست يده يد امرأة قط إلا امرأة يملكها
