The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was upset with Safiya bint Huyayy, so she said to me, "Would you reconcile the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with me, and I will give you my day in exchange?"I said, "Yes."So I took a head-covering of hers that was dyed with saffron and sprinkled it with water, then wrapped it around my head. Affan said, "So that its fragrance would spread."Then I went in to him on her day and sat beside him. He said, "Move away, Ayesha, for this is not your day."I replied, "That is the bounty of Allah, He bestows it upon whom He wills." Then I told him what had happened.Affan said, "And he was reconciled with her."

وجد رسول الله ﷺ على صفية بنت حيي فقالت لي هل لك إلى أن ترضين رسول الله ﷺ عني وأجعل لك يومي قلت نعم فأخذت خمارا لها مصبوغا بزعفران فرشته بالماء ثم اختمرت به قال عفان ليفوح ريحه ثم دخلت عليه في يومها فجلست إلى جنبه فقال إليك يا عائشة فليس هذا يومك فقلت فضل الله يؤتيه من يشاء ثم أخبرته خبري قال عفان فرضي عنها
