When the verse "And warn your closest kinsfolk" [Shuara 26:214] was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and said, "Fatimah, daughter of Muhammad, Safiyyah, daughter of Abdul-Muttalib, sons of Abdul-Muttalib, I cannot avail you anything against Allah. Ask me for whatever you wish of my wealth."
حدثنا وكيع حدثنا هشام عن أبيه
لما نزلت {وأنذر عشيرتك الأقربين} قام رسول الله ﷺ فقال يا فاطمة بنت محمد يا صفية بنت عبد المطلب يا بني عبد المطلب لا أملك لكم من الله شيئا سلوني من مالي ما شئتم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim narrated it, 1/192, no. 205, in the Book of Faith, as did Nasai, 6/250, no. 3648, and Bayhaqi, 6/281, both in the Book of Bequests.
