Ayesha reported,

Barirah came to me asking for help with her writ of manumission. I said to her, "If your masters agree, I will pay them your price in a single payment and set you free."She consulted her masters, but they said, "No, unless the right of inheritance through manumission goes to us."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Buy her, for the right of inheritance belongs only to the one who sets the slave free."
