During the illness in which he passed away, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite the protective surahs and blow upon himself. When he became too weak to do so, I began reciting them and blowing upon him, then wiping him with his own hand.
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا يزيد بن زريع قال حدثنا معمر عن الزهري عن عروة
كان رسول الله ﷺ في مرضه الذي قبض فيه ينفث على نفسه ﷺ بالمعوذات فلما ثقل عن ذلك جعلت أنفث عليه بهن وأمسحه بيد نفسه
