Ayesha reported,

Some people were engaging in intense acts of worship, so the Prophet ﷺ forbade them from doing so, saying, "By Allah, I am the most knowledgeable of you about Allah and the most fearful of Him."He used to say, "Take on only those deeds you can sustain, for Allah does not tire until you tire."

أن ناسا كانوا يتعبدون عبادة شديدة فنهاهم النبي ﷺ فقال والله إني لأعلمكم بالله عز وجل وأخشاكم له وكان يقول عليكم من العمل ما تطيقون فإن الله عز وجل لا يمل حتى تملوا
