We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ thinking only of Hajj. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived in Mecca, he performed tawaf but did not exit the state of ihram, since he had brought sacrificial animals with him. The wives and companions who were with him also performed tawaf, and those among them who had not brought sacrificial animals exited ihram. She herself began menstruating, but we completed all the rites of our Hajj.On the night of Hasbah, the night of departure, she said, "Messenger of Allah, will your companions return having performed both Hajj and Umrah, while I return having performed only Hajj?"He asked, "Did you not perform tawaf during the nights when we first arrived?"She said, "I replied, no."He said, "Then go with your brother to Tanim and enter ihram for Umrah. Your meeting place will be such and such a location."She said that Safiyyah also began menstruating, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "May she be wounded, may her hair be shorn. She is going to detain us. Did you not perform tawaf around the House on the Day of Sacrifice?"She replied, "Yes, I did."He said, "Then there is no harm. Depart."She said, "I met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the late hours of the night as he was ascending toward the people of Mecca and I was descending toward them," or, "he was descending toward them and I was ascending."
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا أبو عوانة قال حدثنا منصور بن المعتمر عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
خرجنا مع رسول الله ﷺ لا نرى إلا إنما هو الحج فقدم رسول الله ﷺ مكة فطاف ولم يحلل وكان معه الهدي فطاف من معه من نسائه وأصحابه فحل منهم من لم يكن معه هدي وحاضت هي فقضينا مناسكنا من حجنا فلما كانت ليلة الحصبة ليلة النفر قالت يا رسول الله أيرجع أصحابك بحج وعمرة وأرجع أنا بحج فقال أما كنت طفت ليالي قدمنا قالت قلت لا قال انطلقي مع أخيك إلى التنعيم فأهلي بعمرة ثم موعدك مكان كذا وكذا قالت وحاضت صفية فقال عقرى أو حلقى إنك لحابستنا أما كنت طفت بالبيت يوم النحر قالت بلى قال لا بأس فانفري قالت فلقيت رسول الله ﷺ مدلجا وهو مصعد على أهل مكة وأنا منهبطة عليهم أو هو منهبط عليهم وأنا مصعدة
