She was asked what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do in his house. She replied, "He would mend his clothes, repair his sandals, and do the kind of work Some men do in their homes."
حدثنا عفان قال حدثنا مهدي حدثنا هشام بن عروة عن أبيه
أنها سئلت ما كان رسول الله ﷺ يعمل في بيته قالت كان يخيط ثوبه ويخصف نعله ويعمل ما يعمل الرجال في بيوتهم
Its isnad is sahih, Bukhari related it in Adab al-Mufrad 188, no. 539, Tirmidhi in Shamail 270, no. 325, Abdul-Razzaq 11/260, no. 20492, and Abd bin Humayd 431, no. 1482.
