Bilal would come to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to call him for the prayer while he was in a state of major ritual impurity. He would get up, perform the full bath, then come to the mosque and pray. I could hear his recitation while his head was still dripping with water, and he would fast that day.

أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يأتيه بلال فيؤذنه للصلاة وهو جنب فيقوم فيغتسل ثم يأتي المسجد فيصلي وأنا أسمع قراءته ورأسه يقطر ثم يصوم ذلك اليوم
