Saaibah reported,

She went in to see Ayesha and noticed a spear set down in her house, so she asked, "Umm Muiminin, what do you do with this spear?"Ayesha replied, "We kill geckos with it, for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ told us that when Ibrahim was cast into the fire, every creature tried to put the fire out for him except the gecko, which kept blowing on it. So he, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered that it be killed."

حدثنا أسود بن عامر قال حدثنا جرير بن حازم عن نافع

عن سائبة مولاة للفاكه بن المغيرة

أنها دخلت على عائشة فرأت في بيتها رمحا موضوعا فقالت يا أم المؤمنين ما تصنعين بهذا الرمح قالت نقتل به الأوزاغ فإن نبي الله ﷺ أخبرنا أن إبراهيم عليه السلام حين ألقي في النار لم تكن دابة إلا تطفئ النار عنه غير الوزغ فإنه كان ينفخ عليه فأمر عليه الصلاة والسلام بقتله
