A lizard was brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, but he neither ate it nor forbade it. I asked, "Messenger of Allah, shall we not feed it to the poor?"He replied, "Do not feed them what you yourselves will not eat."
حدثنا أبو سعيد قال حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن حماد عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
أتي رسول الله ﷺ بضب فلم يأكله ولم ينه عنه قلت يا رسول الله أفلا نطعمه المساكين قال لا تطعموهم مما لا تأكلون
