I was ill while in Persia, so I would pray sitting down. I asked Ayesha about this, and she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray for a long part of the night standing, and a long part of the night sitting. When he recited standing, he would bow or prostrate from the standing position, and when he recited sitting, he would bow from the sitting position."
