The Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved to begin with the right side in all his affairs whenever possible, in his purification, in combing his hair, and in putting on his sandals.When Ashath came to Kufa, he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ loved to begin with the right side whenever possible."
حدثنا بهز قال حدثنا شعبة قال أشعث بن سليم أخبرني قال سمع أباه يحدث عن مسروق
كان رسول الله ﷺ يحب التيمن في شأنه كله ما استطاع في طهوره وترجله وتنعله قال فلما قدم الأشعث الكوفة قال كان رسول الله ﷺ يحب التيمن ما استطاع
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ashath bin Salim bin Aswad is Ashath bin Abu Shatha, mentioned many times before, and he and his father are both trustworthy, their hadith being found in the collections of the group. The hadith was narrated by Bukhari 1/269, number 168, in the book of wudu, Muslim 1/226, in the book of purification, number 268, Abu Dawud 4/70, number 4140, in the book of clothing, Tirmidhi 2/506, number 608, who said it is hasan sahih, in the book of prayer, and Nasai 1/78, number 112, in the book of purification, and in the book of adornment 8/185, number 5240.
