Ayesha reported,

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ instructed me during his illness to give away in charity some gold that we had.She said, what I was witnessing of his condition distracted me from doing it.When he regained consciousness, he asked, "What did you do?"She replied, "What I saw of your state kept me preoccupied."He said, "Bring it to me."She brought it to him, seven or nine dinars, Abu Hazim being uncertain of the number.When she brought it to him, he said, "What would Muhammad think if he were to meet Allah with this still in his possession? This would be of no benefit to Muhammad if he were to meet Allah with it still in his keeping."

أمرني نبي الله ﷺ أن أتصدق بذهب كانت عندنا في مرضه قالت فأفاق فقال ما فعلت قالت لقد شغلني ما رأيت منك قال فهلميها قال فجاءت بها إليه سبعة أو تسعة أبو حازم يشك دنانير فقال حين جاءت بها ما ظن محمد أن لو لقي الله عز وجل وهذه عنده وما تبقي هذه من محمد لو لقي الله عز وجل وهذه عنده
