The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never given a choice between two matters in Islam without choosing the easier of the two.
حدثنا محمد بن مصعب قال حدثنا الأوزاعي عن الزهري عن عروة
ما خير رسول الله ﷺ بين أمرين في الإسلام إلا اختار أيسرهما
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari narrated it, 6/566, no. 3560, in the Book of Virtues, and Muslim, 4/1813, no. 2327, in the Book of Virtues, and Abu Dawud, 4/250, no. 4785, in the Book of Manners, and Malik, 2/902, no. 2, in the Book of Good Character, and Humaydi, 1/125, no. 258.
