Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ crossed the valleys and brought sacrificial animals with him, so he had no choice but to circumambulate the House and perform the saee between Safa and Marwa before standing at Arafah. As for you, people of Mecca, delay your tawaf until you return.

أن رسول الله ﷺ قطع الأودية وجاء بهدي فلم يكن له بد من أن يطوف بالبيت ويسعى بين الصفا والمروة قبل أن يقف بعرفة فأما أنتم يا أهل مكة فأخروا طوافكم حتى ترجعوا
