She meant that the Prophet ﷺ would wake up in a state of major ritual impurity, then bathe, then set out for the prayer, and I would hear his recitation. And he would fast.
قال حدثنا عبد الصمد حدثنا شعبة قال حدثنا ابن أبي السفر عن الشعبي عن عبد الرحمن بن الحارث
كان تعني النبي ﷺ يصبح جنبا ثم يغتسل ثم يغدو إلى الصلاة فأسمع قراءته ويصوم
Its isnad is sahih. Ibn Abu Sahar is Abdullah, and he is trustworthy, his hadith is in the Sahihayn. Ibn Abu Shayba narrated the hadith in 3/80, and Tahawi in Maani 2/104 and in Mushkil 1/228.
