The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection. It will be said to them, 'Bring to life what you have created.'"
حدثنا الخزاعي حدثنا ليث عن نافع عن القاسم
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال إن أصحاب هذه الصور يعذبون يوم القيامة يقال لهم أحيوا ما خلقتم
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Bukhari reported it in 13/528, no. 7557, in the Book of Tawhid, and Muslim in 2/1669, no. 2107, in the Book of Clothing.
