I asked Ayesha, "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a state of major ritual impurity and washed his head with a single wash, did he consider that sufficient, or did he pour water over his head?"She replied, "Rather, he would pour water over his head."
حدثنا حسين حدثنا شريك عن قيس بن وهب
سألت عائشة قلت أكان رسول الله ﷺ إذا أجنب فغسل رأسه بغسل اجتزأ بذلك أم يفيض الماء على رأسه قالت بل كان يفيض على رأسه الماء
Its isnad is daif due to the anonymity of the narrator from Ayesha. It is likewise found in Abu Dawud 1/67, no. 257, in the chapter on Purification.
