Ayesha reported,

Regarding the bath of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from major ritual impurity, she said, "He would begin with his hands and wash them." Waki said, "He would wash his palms three times, then perform ablution as he did for prayer, then run his fingers through the roots of the hair on his head. When he was satisfied that he had thoroughly wetted the skin, he would scoop up three handfuls of water and pour them over his head, then pour water over the rest of his body."Ibn Numayr said, "He scooped with both hands, filling his palms, three times."

حدثنا يحيى ووكيع عن هشام المعنى قال يحيى أخبرني أبي قال

أخبرتني عائشة

عن غسل رسول الله ﷺ من الجنابة قالت كان يبدأ بيديه فيغسلهما قال وكيع يغسل كفيه ثلاثا ثم يتوضأ وضوءه للصلاة ثم يخلل أصول شعر رأسه حتى إذا ظن أنه قد استبرأ البشرة اغترف ثلاث غرفات فصبهن على رأسه ثم أفاض على سائر جسده قال ابن نمير غرف بيديه ملء كفيه ثلاثا
