Walid sent someone to ask Ibn Abbas how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the prayer for rain. He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out wearing humble clothing in a state of humility, came to the prayer ground, and prayed two units just as he prayed on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha."

بعث الوليد يسأل ابن عباس كيف صنع رسول الله ﷺ في الاستسقاء فقال خرج رسول الله ﷺ متبذلا متخشعا فأتى المصلى فصلى ركعتين كما يصلي في الفطر والأضحى
