When the verses at the end of Surah al-Baqarah concerning usury were revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the mosque and prohibited trade in wine.
حدثنا أبو معاوية حدثنا الأعمش عن مسلم عن مسروق
لما نزلت الآيات من آخر البقرة في الربا خرج رسول الله ﷺ إلى المسجد وحرم التجارة في الخمر
Its chain of transmission is sahih. Muslim narrated it 3/1206, no. 1580, in the book of Musaqah. Bukhari narrated it 1/553, no. 459, in the book of Prayer. And Abu Dawud narrated it 3/279, no. 3485, in the book of Sales.
