It reached her that some people were saying that prayer is invalidated by a dog, a donkey, or a woman passing in front of the worshipper. She said, "Do they really equate us with dogs and donkeys? I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night while I was lying on the bed between him and the qiblah. When I had a need, I would slip out from the foot of the bed, disliking to face him directly."
حدثنا أبو معاوية قال حدثنا الأعمش عن إبراهيم عن الأسود
بلغها أن ناسا يقولون إن الصلاة يقطعها الكلب والحمار والمرأة قالت ألا أراهم قد عدلونا بالكلاب والحمر ربما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يصلي بالليل وأنا على السرير بينه وبين القبلة فتكون لي الحاجة فأنسل من قبل رجل السرير كراهية أن أستقبله بوجهي
