Ayesha reported,

A group of Jews asked permission to enter upon the Prophet ﷺ. They said, "As-samu alaykum" (death be upon you).Ayesha responded, "Rather, death be upon you, and the curse of Allah."He said, "Ayesha, Allah loves gentleness in all matters."She said, "Did you not hear what they said?"He replied, "I have already said, 'And upon you.'"

استأذن رهط من اليهود على النبي ﷺ فقالوا السام عليك فقالت عائشة بل السام عليكم واللعنة قال يا عائشة إن الله عز وجل يحب الرفق في الأمر كله قالت ألم تسمع ما قالوا قال فقد قلت وعليكم
