The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For a boy, two equivalent sheep are to be sacrificed, and for a Jariya, one sheep."
أنبأنا بشر بن المفضل عن عبد الله بن عثمان عن يوسف بن ماهك قال دخلنا على حفصة بنت عبد الرحمن فأخبرتنا أن
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال عن الغلام شاتان مكافأتان وعن الجارية شاة
Its isnad is sahih. Hafsa is the daughter of Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Bakr, and she is trustworthy. Her hadith appears in Muslim and the Sunan works, and the hadith has previously appeared at 17071.
