He divorced his wife with the irrevocable formula, and this was mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What did you intend by it?"He replied, "A single divorce."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "By Allah?"He answered, "By Allah."The Prophet ﷺ said, "It is as you intended."
حدثنا يزيد: أخبرنا جرير بن حازم: حدثنا الزبير بن سعيد الهاشمي
أنه طلق امرأته البتة، فذكر ذلك للنبي، فقال: ما أردت بذلك؟ قال: واحدة. قال: الله؟ قال: الله، قال: هو ما أردت.
