A servant said, "My master ordered me to cut some meat into strips for him. A poor man came by, so I gave him some of it to eat. When my master found out, he beat me. So I went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him what had happened."The Prophet ﷺ asked the master, "Why did you beat him?"The master replied, "He gave away my food without my telling him to."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The reward is shared between the two of you."
حدثنا صفوان: حدثنا يزيد بن أبي عبيد
أمرني مولاي أن أقدد له لحما، قال فجاء مسكين فأطعمته منه، قال: فعلم بي فضربني، قال: فأتيت النبي ﷺ فأخبرته، فقال: لم ضربته؟ قال: أطعم طعامي من غير أن آمره. قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: الأجر بينكما.
