The Prophet ﷺ reported that a man freed his share of a jointly-owned slave, and the Prophet ﷺ did not hold him liable for the rest.Ghundar said it as "Ibn Thalab," but it is actually "Ibn Tilb." Shuba had something in his speech, meaning a lisp, and perhaps Ghundar did not catch it correctly from him.
حدثنا محمد بن جعفر: حدثنا شعبة عن خالد -يعني الحذاء - عن أبي بشر العنبري،
عن النبي: أن رجلا أعتق نصيبا له من مملوك، فلم يضمنه النبي. كذا قال غندر: ابن الثلب، وإنما هو: ابن التلب، وكان شعبة في لسانه شيء - يعني لثغة - ولعل غندرا لم يفهم عنه.
