He related that a delegation set out to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they reached him, and they informed him that there was a church in their land. They asked him to give them some of the water left over from his ablution. He called for water, performed ablution and rinsed his mouth, then poured it into a vessel and said, "Take this water, and when you reach your land, demolish your church, sprinkle this water on its site, and turn it into a mosque."We said, "Prophet of Allah, we travel during a season of intense hot winds and heat, and water dries up quickly."He replied, "Add more water to it, for what remains of it will stay strong, abundant, and fresh."So we set out until we reached our land, demolished our church, sprinkled that water on its site, and turned it into a mosque.

حدثه: أنه انطلق وفد إلى رسول الله ﷺ حتى أتوه، فأخبروه أن بأرضهم بيعة، واستوهبوه من طهوره فضله، فدعا بماء فتوضأ وتمضمض، ثم صبه في إداوة، وقال: اذهبوا بهذا الماء، فإذا قدمتم بلدكم، فاكسروا بيعتكم وانضحوا مكانها من هذا الماء، واتخذوها مسجدا. قال: قلنا: يا نبي الله، إنا نخرج في زمان كثير السموم والحر، والماء ينشف قال: فمدوه من الماء، فإنه يبقى منه شديد كثير رطب. قال: فخرجنا حتى بلغنا بلدنا، فكسرنا بيعتنا، ونضحنا مكانها بذلك الماء، واتخذناها مسجدا
