The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to deliver his sermons leaning against the trunk of a palm tree. When the pulpit was made for him, he moved to it, and the trunk began to moan until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to it and embraced it, whereupon it became still. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Had I not embraced it, it would have continued to moan until the Day of Resurrection."
حدثنا حسن بن موسى حدثنا حماد بن سلمة عن عمار بن أبي عمار عن ابن عباس وثابت البناني
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يخطب إلى جذع نخلة فلما اتخذ المنبر تحول إلى المنبر فحن الجذع حتى أتاه رسول الله ﷺ فاحتضنه فسكن فقال رسول الله ﷺ لو لم أحتضنه لحن إلى يوم القيامة
