Awf bin Malik reported,

I came to the Prophet ﷺ among a group of six, seven, or eight men. He said to us, "Pledge allegiance to me."We replied, "Prophet of Allah, we have already pledged allegiance to you."He said again, "Pledge allegiance to me."So we pledged allegiance to him, and he took from us the same pledge he had taken from others. Then he followed it with a quiet word, saying, "Do not ask people for anything."

عن عوف بن مالك الأشجعي قال

دخلت على النبي ﷺ في ستة نفر أو سبعة أو ثمانية فقال لنا بايعوني فقلنا يا نبي الله قد بايعناك قال بايعوني فبايعناه فأخذ علينا بما أخذ على الناس ثم أتبع ذلك كلمة خفية فقال لا تسألوا الناس شيئا
