When Hasan, the elder son of Ali, was born, his mother Fatimah wanted to perform the aqiqah for him by sacrificing two rams. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not perform the aqiqah for him, but shave the hair of his head and give the weight of his hair in silver as charity in the path of Allah."Later, Husayn was born, and she did the same.
حدثنا زكريا بن عدي، حدثنا عبيد الله بن عمرو، عن عبد الله ابن محمد عقيل، قال: سألت علي بن حسين، قال: أخبرني
أن حسن بن علي الأكبر حين ولد، أرادت أمه فاطمة أن تعق بكبشين، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تعقي عنه، ولكن احلقي شعر رأسه، ثم تصدقي بوزن رأسه من الورق في سبيل الله، ثم ولد حسين بعد ذلك، فصنعت مثل ذلك.
