The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This tribe of the Ansar is a test. Loving them is faith, and hating them is hypocrisy."Affan said, "He once narrated this to us without any doubt in it. He dictated it to me first accurately."
حدثنا عفان حدثنا حماد بن زيد عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي شميلة حدثني رجل عن سعيد الصراف أو هو سعيد الصراف
قال رسول الله ﷺ إن هذا الحي من الأنصار محنة حبهم إيمان وبغضهم نفاق قال عفان وقد حدثنا به مرة وليس فيه شك أمله علي أولا على الصحة
Its isnad is hasan, if the unidentified narrator is Saeed the Cloth Seller, who is from Madinah and has not been criticized by anyone, being merely unrated. But if he is unknown, then the hadith is daif. The hadith has appeared previously at 22361 and its cross-references.
