Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Salam reported,

When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us at Quba, he said, "Allah has praised you well concerning purification. Will you not tell me about it?" He was referring to Allah's statement, "In it are men who love to purify themselves, and Allah loves those who purify themselves" [Tawbah 9:108].They replied, "Messenger of Allah, we find it prescribed for us in the Torah to cleanse ourselves with water after relieving ourselves."

حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا مالك يعني ابن مغول قال سمعت سيارا أبا الحكم غير مرة يحدث عن شهر بن حوشب

عن محمد بن عبد الله بن سلام قال

لما قدم رسول الله ﷺ علينا يعني قباء قال إن الله عز وجل قد أثنى عليكم في الطهور خيرا أفلا تخبروني قال يعني قوله {فيه رجال يحبون أن يتطهروا والله يحب المطهرين} قال فقالوا يا رسول الله إنا نجده مكتوبا علينا في التوراة الاستنجاء بالماء
