The prayer of fear was nothing other than what the prayer of your guards is today behind their imams, except that it was performed in turns. One group stood guard while another group, gathered with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, performed the prostration with him. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, and those who had been standing guard performed their own prostrations. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood, and they all stood with him. He bowed and they all bowed with him. Then he prostrated, and those who had been standing guard the first time prostrated with him, while the others, who had prostrated with him the first time, stood guard. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat, along with those who had prostrated with him at the end of their prayer, those who had been standing guard performed their own prostrations and then sat down. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ brought them all together with the closing salutation.
