Qays bin Abbad reported,

I was in the mosque when a man came in whose face bore signs of humility. He entered, prayed two short rakahs, and the people said, "This man is one of the people of Paradise."When he left, I followed him until he entered his house, and I went in with him and spoke with him. Once he had grown comfortable with me, I said to him, "When you came into the mosque earlier, the people said such and such about you."He replied, "Glory be to Allah. No one should say what he does not know. Let me tell you why they said that.I saw a dream during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and related it to him. I saw myself in a green meadow." Ibn Awn described its greenness and vastness. "In the middle of it stood an iron pillar whose base was in the earth and whose top reached the sky, and at its top was a handhold. I was told, 'Climb it.' I said, 'I cannot.' Then a servant came to me." Ibn Awn said, this means a young attendant. "He lifted my garments from behind and said, 'Climb up.' So I climbed until I took hold of the handhold. He said, 'Hold fast to the handhold.' Then I awoke, and it was still in my hand.I came to the Prophet ﷺ and told him the dream. He said, 'As for the meadow, it is the meadow of Islam. As for the pillar, it is the pillar of Islam. As for the handhold, it is the firmest handhold. You will remain upon Islam until you die.'"The narrator said, this man was Abdullah bin Salam.

حدثنا إسحاق بن يوسف حدثنا ابن عون عن محمد

عن قيس بن عباد قال

كنت في المسجد فجاء رجل في وجهه أثر من خشوع فدخل فصلى ركعتين فأوجز فيها فقال القوم هذا رجل من أهل الجنة فلما خرج اتبعته حتى دخل منزله فدخلت معه فحدثته فلما استأنس قلت له إن القوم لما دخلت قبل المسجد قالوا كذا وكذا قال سبحان الله ما ينبغي لأحد أن يقول ما لا يعلم وسأحدثك لم إني رأيت رؤيا على عهد رسول الله ﷺ فقصصتها عليه رأيت كأني في روضة خضراء قال ابن عون فذكر من خضرتها وسعتها وسطها عمود حديد أسفله في الأرض وأعلاه في السماء في أعلاه عروة فقيل لي اصعد عليه فقلت لا أستطيع فجاءني منصف قال ابن عون هو الوصيف فرفع ثيابي من خلفي فقال اصعد عليه فصعدت حتى أخذت بالعروة فقال استمسك بالعروة فاستيقظت وإنها لفي يدي قال فأتيت النبي ﷺ فقصصتها عليه فقال أما الروضة فروضة الإسلام وأما العمود فعمود الإسلام وأما العروة فهي العروة الوثقى أنت على الإسلام حتى تموت قال وهو عبد الله بن سلام
