Salman reported,
Allah 
is too modest to let a servant stretch out his hands to Him in supplication, asking for good, and then turn them back empty.

Ahmad Shakir
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are reliable and well known, and Salman did not attribute it directly to the Prophet, but this has the status of a direct attribution.The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud, 2/78, no. 1488, in the Book of Prayer, chapter on supplication. And by Tirmidhi, 5/556, no. 3556, who said, hasan gharib. And by Ibn Majah, 2/1271, no. 3865, both in the Book of Supplications.
