Saeed bin Musayab and Haram bin Saad bin Muhaysa reported,

A she-camel belonging to Bara bin Azib got into a people's walled garden and caused damage. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled that property owners are responsible for guarding their property during the day, and that the owners of livestock are liable for whatever damage their animals cause at night.

عن سعيد بن المسيب وحرام بن سعد بن محيصة

أن ناقة للبراء بن عازب دخلت حائط قوم فأفسدت فقضى رسول الله ﷺ بحفظ الأموال على أهلها بالنهار وأن على أهل الماشية ما أصابت بالليل
