He had a slave who was a cupper named Abu Taybah, and the slave used to earn a substantial income. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the earnings of cuppers, he sought a concession from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ regarding him, but the Prophet refused. He kept speaking to him about it, mentioning his need, until the Prophet finally told him, "Then put his earnings into the belly of your water-carrying camel."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون حدثنا محمد بن إسحاق عن الزهري
كان له غلام حجام يقال له أبو طيبة يكسب كسبا كثيرا فلما نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن كسب الحجام استرخص رسول الله ﷺ فيه فأبى عليه فلم يزل يكلمه فيه ويذكر له الحاجة حتى قال له لتلق كسبه في بطن ناضحك
