I was sitting beside Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman in the mosque when a handsome elderly man from Banu Ghifar passed by. He was hard of hearing, or as he put it, had a heaviness in his ears. Humayd called him over. When the man approached, Humayd said, "Nephew, make space for him between you and me, for he was a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."So the man came and sat between us. Humayd said to him, "Tell us that hadith you narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."The elderly man said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Allah creates the clouds, and they speak in the most beautiful speech and laugh in the most beautiful laughter.'"

Its isnad is sahih. Haythami said in 2/216, "The men of Ahmad's narration are the men of the Sahih." He also cited it in al-Amthal 154, and Bayhaqi cited it in al-Asma wal-Sifat 473, no. 662.
