I was present with the Prophet ﷺ at Arafah when he was asked about the aqiqah. He said, "I do not like the word uquq, but whoever has a child born to him and wishes to offer a sacrifice for the child, let him do so."

شهدت النبي ﷺ بعرفة فسئل عن العقيقة فقال لا أحب العقوق ولكن من ولد له ولد فأحب أن ينسك عنه فليفعل
