He had a small storeroom in his house, and a ghoul would come and steal from it. He complained about her to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "When you see her, say, 'In the name of Allah, answer the Messenger of Allah.'"He said, so she came, and he said that to her and seized her. She said to him, "I will not return."So he let her go.He came to the Prophet ﷺ, who asked him, "What did your captive do?"He replied, "I caught her, and she told me she would not return, so I let her go."The Prophet ﷺ said, "She will return."So he caught her two or three times, each time she said, "I will not return," and each time he came to the Prophet ﷺ, who would ask, "What did your captive do?"He would reply, "I caught her, and she said she would not return, so I let her go."The Prophet ﷺ would say, "She will return."Then he caught her again, and she said, "Let me go and I will teach you something to say so that nothing will come near you, the Verse of the Throne."He came to the Prophet ﷺ and informed him, and the Prophet ﷺ said, "She has spoken the truth, though she is a liar."
حدثنا أبو أحمد حدثنا سفيان عن ابن أبي ليلى عن أخيه عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى
أنه كان في سهوة له فكانت الغول تجيء فتأخذ فشكاها إلى النبي ﷺ فقال إذا رأيتها فقل بسم الله أجيبي رسول الله قال فجاءت فقال لها فأخذها فقالت له إني لا أعود فأرسلها فجاء فقال له النبي ﷺ ما فعل أسيرك قال أخذتها فقالت لي إني لا أعود فأرسلتها فقال إنها عائدة فأخذتها مرتين أو ثلاثا كل ذلك يقول لا أعود ويجيء إلى النبي ﷺ فيقول ما فعل أسيرك فيقول أخذتها فيقول لا أعود فيقول إنها عائدة فأخذها فقالت أرسلني وأعلمك شيئا تقول فلا يقربك شيء آية الكرسي فأتى النبي ﷺ فأخبره فقال صدقت وهي كذوب
