It is not lawful for a Muslim to shun his brother for more than three days, where they meet and one turns away and the other turns away. The better of the two is the one who initiates the greeting.

لا يحل لمسلم أن يهجر أخاه فوق ثلاثة أيام يلتقيان فيصد هذا ويصد هذا وخيرهما الذي يبدأ بالسلام
