He used to pray four units of prayer before Dhuhr. Someone said to him, "You are constant in this prayer."He replied, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing it, so I asked him about it, and he said, 'It is an hour in which the gates of heaven are opened, and I love that a righteous deed of mine should ascend during it.'"
حدثنا يحيى بن آدم حدثنا شريك عن الأعمش عن المسيب بن رافع عن علي بن الصلت
أنه كان يصلي أربع ركعات قبل الظهر فقيل له إنك تديم هذه الصلاة فقال إني رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يفعله فسألته فقال إنها ساعة تفتح فيها أبواب السماء فأحببت أن يرتفع لي فيها عمل صالح
