This hadith was mentioned earlier at 18914.23423m - Abu Muawiya narrated to us, Ubayda narrated to us from Ibrahim, from Sahm bin Minjab, from Qazaa, from Abu Ayub Ansari, who said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ persisted in performing four rakahs when the sun begins its decline." He said, "So I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, what are these rakahs that I see you persisting in?'" He said, "The gates of heaven open when the sun begins its decline, and they do not close until Dhuhr is prayed, so I love that some good should ascend for me through them." He said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah, do you recite in all of them?'" He said, "Yes." He said, "I asked, 'Is there a greeting of peace within them, so that I may pray them separately?'" He said, "No."Sahih (23423m). Its chain is sahih. Ubayda is Ibn Humayd Dabbi, a trustworthy narrator who is mentioned frequently. Ibrahim is Ibn Yazid Nakhai. Sahm bin Minjab is trustworthy, his hadith appears in Muslim. Qazaa is Ibn Yahya, trustworthy, his hadith appears in the group (of six major collections). Qazaa Dabbi is among the trustworthy successors, his hadith appears in the four (Sunan collections). The hadith is found in Ibn Majah 1/365, number 1157, and in Humaydi 1/190, number 385. It was already mentioned with similar wording at 15332.
