Abu Ishaq reported,

One day some people were discussing the vessels in which drinks may be steeped, and they fell into a dispute about the gourd. Abu Ayub Ansari happened to pass by them, so they sent a man to ask him.The man said, "Abu Ayub, may drinks be steeped in a gourd?"Abu Ayub replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid steeping drinks in any vessel coated with pitch."The man put the question about the gourd to him again, and Abu Ayub repeated exactly what he had said the first time.

عن أبي إسحاق مولى بني هاشم حدثهم

أنهم ذكروا يوما ما ينتبذ فيه فتنازعوا في القرع فمر بهم أبو أيوب الأنصاري فأرسلوا إليه إنسانا فقال يا أبا أيوب القرع ينتبذ فيه قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ ينهى عن كل مزفت ينتبذ فيه فرد عليه القرع فرد أبا أيوب مثل قوله الأول
