Someone spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the woman of Makhzum who had stolen a velvet cloak, offering to ransom her, that is, for forty ounces.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is better for her that she be purified."So he gave the order concerning her, and her hand was cut off. She was from Banu Abdul-Asad.

لرسول الله ﷺ في المخزومية التي سرقت قطيفة يفديها يعني بأربعين أوقية فقال رسول الله ﷺ لأن تطهر خير لها فأمر بها فقطعت يدها وهي من بني عبد الأسد
