If two people invite you at the same time, accept the invitation of the one whose door is nearer, for the one whose door is nearer is the closer neighbor. But if one of them invited you first, accept the one who invited you first.
Its isnad is hasan. Yazid bin Abdul-Rahman Dalani was much criticized regarding his memory, and his hadith appears in the works of the authors of the Sunan. The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud (3/344, no. 3756), Tahawi in Mushkil (4/29), and Bayhaqi (7/275). As for Abu Ala Awdi, he is Dawud bin Abdullah Awdi Zaafari, whom Ahmad and Ibn Main deemed trustworthy. His hadith appears in the Sunan.
