By Allah, I know every trial that will occur between now and the Hour. It is not that the Prophet ﷺ confided something to me privately that he did not share with anyone else, but rather the Prophet ﷺ said it while addressing a gathering in which I was present, speaking about the trials. As he was enumerating them, he said, "Among them are three that will scarcely leave anything untouched, and among them are trials like the winds of summer, some small and some great."Hudhayfah said, "All of those present in that gathering have passed away except me."
حدثنا أبو اليمان قال وأنا شعيب عن الزهري قال كان أبو إدريس عائذ الله بن عبد الله الخولاني يقول سمعت
والله إني لأعلم بكل فتنة وهي كائنة فيما بين يدي الساعة وما بي أن يكون النبي ﷺ أسر إلي في ذلك شيئا لم يحدث غيري به ولكن النبي ﷺ قال وهو يحدث مجلسا أنا فيهم عن الفتن قال وهو يعدها منهن ثلاث لا يكدن يذرن شيئا ومنهن فتن كرياح الصيف منها صغار ومنها كبار قال حذيفة فذهب أولئك الرهط كلهم غيري
