I came to the Prophet ﷺ on a night during Ramadan, and he stood up to pray. When he pronounced the takbir, he said, "Allah is the Greatest, Possessor of dominion, might, pride, and majesty."Then he recited Surah al-Baqarah, then an-Nisa, then Al Imran. He did not pass by a verse of warning without pausing at it.Then he bowed, saying, "Glory be to my Lord, the Magnificent," for as long as he had been standing.Then he raised his head and said, "Allah hears whoever praises Him. Our Lord, to You belongs all praise," for as long as he had been standing.Then he prostrated, saying, "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High," for as long as he had been standing.Then he raised his head and said, "Lord, forgive me," for as long as he had been standing.Then he prostrated again, saying, "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High," for as long as he had been standing.Then he raised his head and stood up. He had prayed only two rakahs by the time Bilal came and called him to the prayer.
حدثنا خلف بن الوليد حدثنا يحيى بن زكريا حدثنا العلاء بن المسيب عن عمرو بن مرة عن طلحة بن يزيد الأنصاري
أتيت النبي ﷺ في ليلة من رمضان فقام يصلي فلما كبر قال الله أكبر ذو الملكوت والجبروت والكبرياء والعظمة ثم قرأ البقرة ثم النساء ثم آل عمران لا يمر بآية تخويف إلا وقف عندها ثم ركع يقول سبحان ربي العظيم مثل ما كان قائما ثم رفع رأسه فقال سمع الله لمن حمده ربنا لك الحمد مثل ما كان قائما ثم سجد يقول سبحان ربي الأعلى مثل ما كان قائما ثم رفع رأسه فقال رب اغفر لي مثل ما كان قائما ثم سجد يقول سبحان ربي الأعلى مثل ما كان قائما ثم رفع رأسه فقام فما صلى إلا ركعتين حتى جاء بلال فآذنه بالصلاة
